From the Emperor:

To all New Participants and Participants that have not been to CLASH OF IRON in the last few years.

First let me say CLASH is not linked to or affiliated with any other reenacting group. We have our own set of rules and way of doing things.

This event is based on a specific time period and has a scenario. Your Tri needs to know how involved you want to be in the scenario. If you do not want to be involved that is fine. Please understand, you can not come in and say, play as a high ranked Roman citizen and expect the soldiers to hold court or march at your command, it won’t happen.

Kit must be FIRST CENTURY CELT, Germani or ROMAN. That said, we do not expect your kit to be all hand sewn but you will not be allowed to wear tennis shoes. Glasses are strongly discouraged ( if you absolutely can not do this contact your Tri.) (Kit consists of all clothing, shoes, armor, weapons and tent you plan on wearing or using during the event.)  All new attendees should submit a picture of themselves in kit to the Clash Of Iron Facebook page for a quick review (the standard for most gear is Deepeeka Gen 1 or better).  The link is https://www.facebook.com/groups/Clashofiron/.  The purpose of the picture submission is not to limit attendance, but to avoid "Hollywood" Romans and gross miscarriages of reenactor kit!  Don't worry, as we have loaners and will work to help you improve!!

You must contact the person in charge of the area you would like to be in. The Triumvir Celtic Chieftain is Steven B. Triumvir Roman Centurion is Bryan Fitch. These two leaders will answer questions or assign you to another participant that can help you.

The 2018 Centurio is Rusty Myers (RKA Justus Longinus).

We have very limited sleeping space in buildings. The Celts have strict rules on sleeping in the longhouse. Chieftain and Council have first dibs on space so you must speak to Triumvir Celtic Chieftain Steven B for sleeping arrangements or tent space.

Only Roman soldiers sleep in the barracks and it is first come first serve. No one is allowed to hold bunks and you are only allowed one bunk. Both the barracks and longhouse have very limited storage space so be prepared! As of right now we do not have covered sleeping for civilians. You will need a period tent. If you are concerned about your sleeping arrangements you need to contact your Triumvir Roman Centurion Bryan Fitch ASAP.  TIROs may be assigned to tent groups on arrival to assist in helping them "immerse".

It is important that you go to the www.clashofiron.org page and read the event info. and rules page. There is more information on the more page you should also consider reading. Some pages are from last year and will be updated soon.

I hope this answers some questions you may have and points you in the direction of who to speak to. This is not meant to discourage anyone from coming out and enjoying the event, we welcome new attendees. We just want everyone to have the best event possible.
